Lisa Boyer I have worked as Dr. Wilsons orthodontic assistant for the past 16 years. In high school, I became interested in dentistry when we were studying bones and teeth. For some reason, teeth just fascinated me! My fascination led me to a dental assisting program during my senior year. Dr. Wilson hired me right after graduation, and I have been here ever since.
In orthodontics, each person each bite is a challenge to improve and perfect. Being part of creating the end result, a beautiful, healthy smile is very rewarding to me.
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, riding my bike and motorcycle, snowmobiling and skiing. I also enjoy NASCAR and am a Jeff Gordon fan.
Cathy Newbury I have worked in dentistry for 20 years and as an orthodontic assistant for 17 years. I have been with Dr. Wilson for the past 12 years. My hobbies include candle and soap making, 4-wheeling, baking and entertaining friends. I have been married to Art for 31 years and have two children and two grandsons. My favorite times are spent with my family, especially at our cabin. I cant imagine my life without them. I feel that its important to treat everyone as you would like to be treated, each day should be lived to its fullest and laughter really is the best medicine! I was drawn to orthodontics by the challenge of learning a new career. Im very people-oriented and enjoy working with both the children and adults we treat at our practice. Every day is different. Its very rewarding to watch a shy, quiet child open up to us as we work with them, month after month. The confidence and joy in their faces after their braces have been removed is wonderful.
Sheri Hoke I have been Dr. Wilsons appointment coordinator since graduating from college 16 years ago. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jeff, and our yellow Lab, Hunter. The three of us can usually be found walking around the marina. My hobbies include reading and cross-stitching. I am a Penn State football fan. My favorite NASCAR driver is Bobby Labonte. I try to treat each patient as I would want to be treated when entering an office. I think its rewarding to see the smiles on patients and parents faces when they see the final result at the end of treatment.
Joanne Wilson This isnt the first time Joanne has managed health care. In fact, after graduating from Mt. Union College, where incidentally she met "Dr. Dave," she worked for an oral surgery practice in Pittsburgh, Pa., and later for an HMO in Philadelphia, bringing tons of knowledge with her to her position as Financial Coordinator. Joanne studied music and elementary education in college and those loves have remained with her over the years. She began working at the practice in 1995 after many years of involvement with the Valley Nursery School, both as a board member and as a teacher.
As for her passions, Joanne is a woman for many seasons or seasonings! She is equally at ease whether in the kitchen baking one of her famous pies, at the theatre in NYC as a member of the Summer Benefit Committee for TACT, singing on stage with her "leading tenor" and the Susquehanna Valley Choral or experiencing different people, places and palates while traveling. She and Dave love hanging out with their two adult children, Seth (and his wife Kim) and Abigail (and her fiancé Hamilton), whenever they can.
Mike Byers I’ve been working with Dr. Wilson for 17 years although I took some time away to earn my B.S. in Graphic Design at Penn College in 2003 and to work in Washington. My wife Kate and I moved back to the Susquehanna Valley in 2005. Kate and I have been married for 9 years and share our home with 3 dogs and a cat. I have three sons: Matt 25, Ryan 23, and Zach 21.
My love of sculpture and design and my attention to detail help me provide Dr. Wilson’s practice with a high degree of accuracy in the dental lab. I am passionate about striving for perfection in both my profession and my hobbies. Someday I hope to incorporate my love of sculpture and pottery into a limited business. Other hobbies and interests include Pennsylvania railroad history, model railroading, astronomy, sports cars, numismatics and of course…Yankee baseball!!
Laura Thomas I have been an Orthodontic Assistant for 15 ½ years in the Harrisburg Area, joining Dr. Wilson’s Staff last year.
When I am not at work in the Smiles By Wilson offices I love spending time with my husband of 16 ½ years, Chris and our two wonderful daughters, Jenica, 12, and Cordelia, 10. Zeus, our Great Dane puppy, rounds out our family. As you might imagine, I spend a portion of my day doing “puppy training” with our biggest baby! When not wearing my puppy training hat you can find me reading, (I love books!!!), bowling or getting together with our friends doing home remodeling projects, cooking, eating and just “lovin’ life” together.
Maureen Pagana As the New Patient Coordinator I will be one of the first people and “smiles” to greet you when you come to Dr. Wilson’s office. I joined the team in November 2005.
I have been married to my handsome husband, Chuck Pagana, for 21 years. He has a very busy medical practice in Selinsgrove where we live with our four fantastic children. Charlie, Jay, Chelsey and Gabby are our pride and joy.
I love to sing and perform. I studied music and theater in New York City so it is easy to call the stage my home and the microphone my key. Whether it’s show tunes, church hymns, or just radio songs, you can probably catch me singing, humming or whistling in the office.
Although I have coached AYSO soccer for 5 years and played indoor soccer on a women’s league, my favorite sport is football. Our family never misses a Notre Dame (my husband’s alma mater) Football Game. However, our two sons attend Penn State, so our allegiance switches to “blue and white” on fall weekends as we travel to State College to cheer on the Nittany Lions!
Brenda Emery
I am the New Patient Coordinator at Dr. Wilson's Harrisburg Office.
Prior to moving to Pennsylvania I worked with an endodontist in Colorado Springs,
Colorado. My desire to work with children led me to the field of orthodontics.
I have been happily married to my wonderful husband, Jonathan, for twelve years. We
have two beautiful children, Chandler and Megan. Since Jonathan serves in the US Army,
our family has had the opportunity to live in several states including Colorado,
(my favorite!), Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Florida and now, Pennsylvania.
I enjoy reading, playing with our dog, Gracie, shopping and of course, spending time
with my family!
